Dentistry For Kids In Plantation

Because we love kids and want them to have the best start in life, caring for and treating children is an important part of our practice.  We typically see them starting at around age 3.  Often times, when a parent is scheduled for their professional cleaning, their child comes with them.  It is a great way to get young children accustomed to the new surroundings.

This allows you to give your kids the best start to a lifetime of good oral health habits – and it can save you money! Studies show that kids who see the dentist earlier in life have 40% lower dental costs by the time they go to school than kids who don’t see the dentist. It also helps you know that you can address any bite and tooth development issues early in their growth and development.

At your child’s first appointment, we will examine their teeth and gums, do a professional cleaning, take necessary radiographs (digital x-rays set to emit the least amount of radiation possible) if age appropriate, and apply brush on fluoride. If indicated, we may also apply dental sealants to their back teeth – the ones that are harder to reach for both of you – and the teeth most likely to decay.

Finally we teach you, the parent, how to remove plaque from your child’s teeth and gums to better protect their oral health. And of course, we are always here to answer any questions you have about how you can help your kids achieve excellent dental health.
